Dr. Salholm broke down the difference between an MRI and an X-ray and explained to us why he, and most other doctors, will likely suggest getting an MRI done if the occasion calls for it.<\/p>\n\n<p>Dr. Salholm explained that X-rays are an outdated technology, and the times have changed extensively since they were created. X-rays will only really show bones without much additional detail. While this can be just what you need in certain situations, it\u2019s likely your chiropractor or doctor will want to see more details.<\/p>\n\n<p>Fortunately for both ourselves and our physicians, MRIs show the ligaments, nerves, nerve roots, and disks in detail, things that can\u2019t be seen with just an X-ray. Plus, MRIs don\u2019t have any radiation (like an X-ray), so it\u2019s far safer for you to get an MRI done over an X-ray.<\/p>\n\n<p>Dr. Richardson takes that even further by using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-018-07182-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3 Tesla Scan<\/a>, which is twice as fast as a regular MRI, getting you out of the scan in half the time! Plus, he can see everything he needs to monitor his patient\u2019s health in great detail. This way, he can diagnose any issues much more quickly and effectively.
