We spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/doctorsonliens.com\/locations\/575-Fountain-Valley-Coast-Physical-Medicine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Martin Andrade from Coast Physical Medicine<\/a>, our physical therapist who works on a lien in Fountain Valley, CA, and he had some great tips for anyone who has just been injured in a car accident.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use Ice<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Dr. Martin suggests that you ice any area <a href=\"http:\/\/docliens.com\/articles\/the-benefits-of-hyperbaric-oxygen-therapy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with inflammation<\/a> following an accident or injury. You don\u2019t need to ice any area for more than 10 minutes at a time, but you should regularly ice it while you see inflammation. By regularly icing the area, you will help reduce inflammation and, in turn, help reduce the discomfort you are feeling.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Keep Moving<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>One of the best ways you can help yourself heal <a href=\"http:\/\/docliens.com\/articles\/back-to-the-basics-why-chiropractic-adjustments-help-after-a-car-accident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">after an accident<\/a> is by moving around. If you allow the discomfort to stop you from walking or moving, it could inevitably make you stiffer and more uncomfortable. Dr. Martin isn\u2019t suggesting any intense workouts or movements by any means, rather a nice walk around the block from time to time. By increasing your circulation, you can help the healing process. How so? Well, by increasing your blood flow from a walk, you can reduce stiffness by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maloriesadventures.com\/blog\/how-meditating-with-a-monthly-intention-can-help-focus-your-life\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relaxing<\/a> your muscles which will, inevitably, ease your pain and discomfort.
