The stiffness of constantly sitting in a chair can do a lot of damage to our bodies if we\u2019re not careful. Even just sitting without stretching your hips can cause hip pain, especially in the lower front of your pelvis. You see, sitting can actually scrunch and in turn, shorten your hip flexor muscles. Luckily, there are some simple ways to get relief from hip pain of this kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/doctorsonliens.com\/locations\/665-La-Palma-Cerritos-La-Palma-Health-Group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Steve Moon from La Palma Health Group<\/a> about a stretch that\u2019s great for relieving this type of hip pain. His stretch can lengthen out and strengthen those hip flexors, helping to fight the shortening that occurs from too much sitting. Place your right foot up on the chair at a 90 degree angle, so you knee is straight out in front of you and at a 90-degree angle with the chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From this position, stick your belly button a bit forward and lean into the chair towards your foot. As you do this, be sure to keep your pelvis facing straight ahead evenly. Do not rotate your pelvis one direction or the other at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will feel the stretch in the front of your pelvis on the left side while stretching with your right leg up. Be sure to keep you low back flat and not arched forward. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, switch up and try this for 10 seconds on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just by keeping your body moving and <a href=\"http:\/\/docliens.com\/articles\/the-importance-of-conducting-neck-stretches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stretching<\/a>, you can help protect yourself from aches, pain, and stiffness. And if you\u2019ve been hurt in an accident, a lot of this pain can be amplified.
