There are creams and gels you can apply topically to scars, there are laser treatments available to help diminish their appearance, and you can also inject scars with steroid treatments that will help to flatten and smooth them.<\/p>\n\n<p>However, there is a new treatment recommended by Dr. Youssef to improve the appearance of scars as they heal, and that is a micro needling treatment done with PRP. What is PRP? PRP is platelet rich plasma, which is extracted from your own blood and put directly into the scar. And micro needling is done with a machine that puts little holes into the scar to stimulate new collagen and elastin to heal it.
