As we discussed last week, after you’ve been injured in a car accident, there is no cut-and-paste solution to proper healing. Each person should refer to a chiropractor and/or specialist about what plan is right for their unique situation. And, no matter what solution exists for your unique case, there are always little tricks and tips that come up that can help you heal a bit faster. We spoke with Dr. Eric Nepomnaschy DC of Bay Chiropractic in Santa Monica about how laser therapy is a great little boost to help your healing process go a bit faster.
Dr. Nepomnaschy explained that using laser therapy has a number of benefits that range from speeding up your recovery to decreasing pain. The laser in his office utilizes 4 different wavelengths that each produce different results that help towards healing. One of them increases tissue oxygenation. Tissue oxygenation is important as it is what helps to sustain your normal metabolism. Helping the oxygen to get deeper into your tissues is essential to help speed up and promote a healthy recovery.
Another laser wavelength increases white blood cell migration. By doing this, it decreases your inflammation which, in turn, helps ease any discomfort you may be feeling. Another of the wavelengths increases the ATP (adenosine triphosphate) formation within the mitochondria which helps set the environment for the tissue to heal.
If you’ve been injured in an accident and you’re looking to amp up your recovery, reach out to Dr. Eric Nepomnaschy about getting laser therapy or give a call to any of our doctors who work on a lien basis for a consultation about what’s right for your unique situation.
