Dr. Gary Tchobanian of Comfort Care Chiropractic met with us today to discuss what to do when a patient has experienced concussion-like symptoms. If they visit a chiropractic office with these symptoms, according to Dr. Tchobanian, they should be referred to a neurologist. However, when added into the mix, chiropractors can also help in the healing process. So, on top of seeing a neurologist, if your clients are experiencing concussion-like symptoms, sending them to a chiropractor could also be a benefit to their treatment plan. Watch Dr. Tchobanian’s quick tip video below regarding concussions and read on for more:
Dr. Tchobanian says that he looks for concussion-like symptoms in his patients, which can manifest as headaches, dizziness, poor concentration, the inability to focus, ringing in the ears, and more. When this happens, it’s possible the patient hit their head or received whiplash in their accident, which may have given them a concussion. On top of referring them to a neurologist, as mentioned above, Dr. Tchobanian discusses more that can be added into their treatment on his end. For instance, according to him, spinal manipulation, soft tissue massages, and other treatments in that realm can potentially help to decrease these symptoms and provide your client with relief. So, if your client has been injured in an auto accident, be sure to refer them to Dr. Tchobanian of Comfort Care Chiropractic or any of the doctors in our Doctors on Liens family today.
