A very hot topic in the current world of chiropractic care is the idea of Spinal Decompression Therapy. What is this? Basically, Spinal Decompression Therapy is when a motorized device or traction table stretches out the spine gently in order to provide back pain relief. Like chiropractic care, it’s a non-invasive and non-surgical way to get pain relief, especially if you’ve been injured in a car accident.

We spoke with Dr. Eric Nepomnaschy DC from Bay Chiropractic in Santa Monica, California about Spinal Decompression for his quick tip of the day. Read on below for more or follow along with Dr. Nepomnaschy’s quick tip here:

As Dr. Nepomnaschy explains in more detail, Spinal Decompression pulls the patient gently from head to toe creating space in the joints in a systematic fashion. It methodically pulls, holds, and then releases. The benefits of Spinal Decompression consist of this therapy pumping the joints, allowing the nerves to get a bit freer. This, in turn, hydrates the disks and allows for pain relief. This therapy also allows for an influx of healing nutrients into the disk, as well, as part of the stretching process.

According to Dr. Nepomnaschy, the research conducted on Spinal Decompression shows great results including over a 90% decrease in pain when patients do a full course of treatment.

All in all, if you’ve been injured in an accident or are experiencing back pain, it’s important to seek medical attention and inquire about a doctor who work on a lien basis. Be sure to reach out to Dr. Nepomnaschy regarding Spinal Decompression therapy or any of our doctors who work on a lien basis to see if it’s right for you.
